ACaique parrot or black-headed parrot, a species belonging to the Stackeday family native to Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and northern Amazon. It also exists in some regions of Brazil and Venezuela, often living in small groups of 30 birds. They are social birds and it is rare for one of their members to be alone. The word “cake” comes from Toby’s native language from Brazil, meaning “water bird”. The bird’s size is 9 to 10 inches, and its life expectancy is 20 to 30 years.
